The 90s are in, so it’s no surprise fashion is capitalizing on it.

90s icon Pamela Anderson has been chosen as the face of Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood new SS17 campaign. The photographs were shot by the legendary Juergen Teller.
When discussing the project, Teller told Dazed, “The island is Hydra, Greece, where I have a house.” He continued with, “We liked the adventure of it… Vivienne, Andreas and Pamela are all just great people to work with. All three of them bring so much to the shoot. I love working with them. There is a trust between us and we explore and work quite freely.”
Kronthaler gained inspiration for the designs based on his environment while living in Europe, but mainly wanted to showcase the beauty of the Mediterranean. “After all these years we have fallen in love with Italy and the Mediterranean. ” He stated, “I love the sea and being close to it – I thought ‘I want to make the summer collection about the Mediterranean’, an homage to the people and the place.”
Anderson also discussed her her involvement with the collection, “I love the apocalyptic feel when we shoot. A warrior comes over me and it feels like life and death. How will we survive the climate and overpopulation? We may all become cannibals –or eat rocks.”
The collection is beautifully colorful with a rustic, yet industrial feel with the classic Vivienne Westwood style to seal the deal.
This is not the first time Anderson, Westwood, and Teller all worked together. All three worked on the British fashion designer’s ad back in Spring ’09. Anderson has also starred in three different ads for Westwood, including last year’s collection of “Save the Arctic Campaign.”
Anderson may be best known for her bombshell looks, but she rocked the high fashion look well.
