If you haven’t noticed already this winter, everything is oversized from scarves to denim. I have never been the one to wear anything two sizes (if not more) bigger. I stay away usually because it typically will overwhelm the body. Yet, here I find myself loving the super oversized chunky knit sweaters. I admittedly gave it a try and really seriously loved it.
It started with a scarf that was triple the length of a normal one, made for me by a friends mom. There is something homey and warm about having a scarf that feels like you are wearing a small blanket wrapped around your neck. When it is bitter cold out I wear it to cover everything from the top of my head to my neck with practically only my eyes showing.
To add to the oversized trend are extra wide leg pants I keep seeing. Some have a slim leg that flair out towards the bottom. Other styles start with a wider leg at the top and widen more at the ankle with a thick fringe around the hem. Both are the envy of street style stars right now.
Biggie sized denim jackets are a thing. If you didn’t see Kyle pretty much start this trend then you have been living under a fashion rock. During fashion week in September this look peaked and you could see the oversized trend in every street style feature. Wearing a men’s light wash jacket is the easiest way to swing this style. Button just one button on a diagonal to really work the look.
If you are not about wearing it, try a huge knit throw blanket. Wrap yourself up in a super cozy knit. It’s the latest trend in blankets found on Etsy and Amazon. Some of them even double as a long sweater if you get in the mood to wear it.
