Gwyneth Paltrow’s New Line Isn’t Inclusive Or Affordable

A lot of celebrity clothing lines have something that most don’t have when they start: unlimited funding. And you know what unlimited funding provides you with? The opportunity to do pretty much anything you want, make how many pieces you want, commission any designers you want and not go broke.

So that’s why when I saw Gwyneth Paltrow’s new Goop Label, I was slightly optimistic that she would think to be inclusive since she doesn’t have to think about only making x amount of samples. She told the The New York Times, “I have kept an archive of my most influential fashion pieces, things that came to mean something to me,” she said with a smile. “It encompasses a lot of different time periods, lovers, countries.”

Today #gooplabel was launched and a dream comes true #buynowwearnowkeepforever @goop

And while the collection isn’t necessarily groundbreaking, it would have been nice for curvy women to be included in the design process. Currently the largest option is a size 12, and the pieces are quite expensive, so it’s not a collaboration we will be rejoicing to stand behind anytime soon.
