Today, Instagram announced that it was releasing a zoom feature, allowing users to zoom in on photos. And while this is a cool feature that they probably should have had a long time ago, I was genuinely astonished at how many of my friends were in a panic over the zoom feature. And if you can’t guess the reason, it obviously had to do with vanity.
If you photoshop your pictures (like most celebrities do), that’s your prerogative! There’s nothing to be ashamed about with the zoom feature now, no matter what size you are. Your ‘flaws’ are what make your place in this world as a woman so unique and special, and there’s no denying that power just because of a feature that allows you to zoom in and maybe see things that people couldn’t before. It saddens me that there’s also been accusations of being able to call out bloggers on their photoshopping techniques–and while I personally don’t agree with altering your photos to look good for other people, pitting women against other women isn’t something I’m interested in, and isn’t something that I want the curve community to divulge in. Be proud of your bodies ladies! Zoom in and see the perfection and beauty of women.
