Music and fashion have always had an interesting relationship, but we were particularly intrigued by the mash up of GUESS with Ariana and Nicki for their new song.
We’ve talked about Ariana and her move away from being the angelic, good girl, but it’s super interesting to watch her be paired with GUESS – a brand known for being anything but angelic. This video is not just another sponsored piece of product placement, but marks a different kind of move for most clothing brands.
As of right now, the video currently lives on GUESS’ site, but it will be available for viewing on VEVO later this evening. Not only do brands not typically host videos, they often don’t design entire lines around one.
There is an entire line used in the video that is currently available for purchase on site, including a rhinestone pair of cat ears inspired by Ariana herself!
Music and fashion have always influenced each other, but is this the start of something new? We may be on the road to more collaborations that aren’t just Yeezy x Adidas and Rihanna x Puma. This is a different animal. Entire lines dedicated to videos is a totally different ball game.
