When did you start using filters on your photos? Was it when you played around on Photoshop? Got an Instagram or Snapchat? No matter how you figured out about filters, it’s clear that in our selfie zeitgeist that we’re pretty reliant on them.
Model Lily Aldridge spoke out about how our society relies on filters.
It’s kind of funny because #nofilter wouldn’t really exist if there weren’t any photo filters. (OK this doesn’t include when you’re talking about how someone has no filter when they’re speaking to another person, but you know what I mean)!
One of my friends used to text me to ask me which photo looked better, and then proceed to send three or four of the same photo, just with different filters over it.
Or have you ever taken a selfie with a friend and then was about to post it on the ‘gram and just stood there scrolling through the many filters, wondering if Hefe or Perpetua looked better?

We need to have social filters, but maybe not as many on social media.
