Flash tattoos have always been fun and stylish, but now, they can do so much more.
DuoSkin is a collaboration between MIT Media Lab and Microsoft Research. Together, they’ve created customizable interfaces you put on your skin in the form of a flash tattoo.
There are three different types of on-skin interfaces: communication, input and output.
Communication: Wireless communication lets you exchange on-skin data.
Input: Your flash tattoo can act as buttons, like a track pad. For example, you could control your music’s volume.
Output: You can have yourself a mood tattoo with the colors changing based on body temperature. Or, with the addition of LEDs, your flash tat can light up.
Of course although these interactive flash tattoos can be made at home, there are specific materials and steps to take in order to create them.
