The talk around town is that Kylie Jenner revealed her 15-step makeup routine on Snapchat.
I mainly do my makeup in 15 steps too, but no one makes a big deal out of it because I’m not Kylie *rolls eyes*.
Here’s my 15-step makeup routine:
1. Draw on eyebrows
Notice I didn’t say, “fill in eyebrows.” I draw them on because they’re naturally light blonde and super sparse. Here, I used the Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Pencil in Taupe. After, I went over it with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Auburn. Why two different shades? My blonde roots are coming in and my red hair is fading.
2. Tightline
I like to tightline (add eyeliner to the area right under the lashes) for more definition to my eyes. I used The Estee Edit Edgiest Kohl Shadowstick in Jaded.
3. Swipe on eyeshadows
I used the Tartelette in Bloom palette.
Shades: Charmer, Flower Child, Smarty Pants, Sweetheart, Rebel and Funny Girl.
Brushes L-R: Sephora Crease Shadow 73, an eyeshadow brush from a Kirkland set, Sephora Precision Powder Shadow 61.
4. Line top lid
I used the eye shadow shade Leader from the Tartelette in Bloom palette on a Real Techniques Fine Liner brush. I used an eyeshadow for a softer look.
5. Curl lashes
I always curl my eyelashes because they’re short and stick straight out. This is a Beauty 360 curler.
6. Put on mascara
Today I used Maybelline’s waterproof Great Lash.
7. Prime the face
I used one of my favorite face primers, Benefit’s POREfessional, for a flawless finish.
8. Dab on foundation
I wet a Beauty 360 blending sponge and dabbed MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Ultra HD foundation in Alabaster all over my face.
9. Conceal
I swiped on Benefit’s Fake Up concealer in the shade Light under my eyes and on acne/moles and dabbed it all in with the same damp sponge.
10. Contour
I added some light definition to my face with Benefit’s Dallas. I applied it in the hollows of my cheeks, my jawline, my temples and the sides of my face.
11. Add color with blush
I added some color to my cheeks with Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface using the Bare Minerals Full Flawless Face brush.
12. Highlight
I useed Benefit’s Georgia for a simple shine. I’m pretty sure I searched the Internet for ages to find this product because it’s discontinued.
13. Set the brows
I need my brows to stay put no matter what. I love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Genius Clear Waterproofing Gel. My brows don’t budge with this! I’m not sure if the product is still being made or it’s been recently discontinued.
14. Apply lipstick
I used one of my go-to lip colors: MAC Cosmetics’ Brave.
15. Set that face
The final step is to set my face with the Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray so nothing slides off during the day.
That’s my 15-step makeup routine.
Some days there are fewer steps and some days there are more. It all depends on what kind of makeup look I’m trying to achieve.
Whether you do your makeup routine in 3 steps or 30, don’t let anyone tell you one option is better than the other. You do you.
