Guess what? Your kitchen is basically the beauty section of Ulta. Okay, maybe not entirely, but there’s a ton of useful stuff in there.
Don’t worry, there aren’t a handful of ingredients to go out and buy, a DIY recipe to follow, or a Pinterest fail to fear.
Here are a few items you may already have in your kitchen that you can incorporate into your beauty routine this summer.
1. Aloe vera plant
OK, so maybe you have an aloe vera plant in your garden instead of your kitchen. If you’ve ever bought an aloe vera gel to put on a sunburn, did you ever notice how sticky the consistency is? Invest in an aloe vera plant instead. You can break off one of the leaves and cut it open to reveal fresh aloe to rub on a sunburn. This will leave a less sticky residue on your skin yet still helps to soothe a burn.
2. Organic corn starch
Grab some corn starch with your fingers and sprinkle over your oily roots to use as a dry shampoo. You can brush it out or just use your fingers to rub it into your scalp. You can also use a large powder brush to help spread it across your hair. Just think of how long a box of corn starch can last you compared to a bottle of dry shampoo.
3. Oatmeal
If you have dry skin, irritated skin, or eczema, an oatmeal bath can be one of the most soothing ways to relax. So either grind up some oatmeal into a powder to sprinkle into your warm bath, or put whole oats into a little mesh bag and stick that under your bath faucet.
4. Tea bags
5. Epsom salt
