Leslie Jones Tweets She Can’t Find a Designer to Dress Her

Even though Leslie Jones is an established comedian, an Elle cover girl, in the new Ghostbusters movie, and has traveled all across the world there’s still one inescapable issue: designers don’t want to dress her because she isn’t fitting into sample sizes. Crazy huh? You can be on Saturday Night Live, have a great fan base, have lots of press in the media, but at the end of the day, there are still only a few designers willing to not think so narrowly about fashion.

It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie. Hmmm that will change and I remember everything

It’s clear from her tweet that she has reached out to designers and asked for help, and that they have likely come back to her with little to no options that work for her. And though this isn’t a surprise, it’s extremely disappointing that you can be in a mega blockbuster movie and still have to beg people to dress you for a premiere. Especially when actresses that do fit into sample-sized clothing have a plethora of racks at their disposal and end up with beauty contracts by their next movie.
