If you stay up watching Youtube videos like I do, you are very familiar with Cassey  Ho’s Blogilates—she’s beautiful, hilarious, and has great fitness videos that keep you motivated and always uplifting. Today, Cassey decided to share a personal triumph she’s recently overcome, aiming to show women that they should feel confident about themselves no matter what people say.

According to People, her fanbase hasn’t always been the most supportive of her body, saying that they “put her into a physical war with her body.” She even made a video ‘Perfect Body,’ in which she photoshopped images of her body into what her followers were saying she should look like. She also confessed, “I used to have an eating disorder and a body image disorder because I thought I had to be super skinny and super toned and all of that kind of stuff, and compared myself with other fitness people and Instagrammers.”

Fortunately, Cassey has learned to tune out the haters and added, “Your body is not what you’re about. You’re about what inside your body, inside your brain, your heart, your character, your talent. Once you realize there’s so much more than your abs and your booty, then you can really thrive in life.” And you have to give her credit, being in the spotlight, especially in such a critical space, can make it even harder to stay positive and rise above. However, it’s a mantra we’re sticking too, and it’s nice to see that others are following suit.
