Rebel Wilson is on the cover of Marie Claire UK for the month of July and is looking gorg as per usual. The star has been in the news a lot lately with controversy about how much weight she has lost, with fans worrying that she is changing for the industry, but it seems that Rebel has her head on straight and doesn’t even bother paying attention to the haters. And while we would have liked to see her full body on the cover instead of the face crop routine for curvy women, she does look beautiful so we’ll let it go.
In the interview, she talks with Mickey Rankin, the author of Pitch Perfect which catapulted her to fame. She revealed that she originally got into acting because her mom thought she was too shy admitting, “I was so unusually shy, bordering on social disorder. So my mum—one she drives me to this community acting class. I was holding onto the car door and crying. She had to peel me off the car. She’s like ‘I’ll pick you up in two hours.’ And she left me.”
And while she is probably thanking her mom for leaving her at those acting classes, she hasn’t changed her perspective on the pressures that come with being an actress in Hollywood. “I’ve always tried to use my brain to get places. There’s so many glamorous people in Hollywood I just never want to compete with that…even the men get their skin lasered.” Hilarious but so true, and we’re glad to hear that Rebel is just fine with herself the way she is.
