Note to self: Lisa Vogl’s fashion line, Verona Collection, serves some modesty realness. Vogl, the founder and director of the Verona Collection, started her modern hijabi line in 2013. The reason was simple: a lack of fashionable clothing for Muslim women.
After being available online, Vogl’s finally opened the doors of a Verona shop in Orlando, Florida. It’s very rare to see a clothing store catering to Muslim women in the U.S, according to Fusion, and it’s a sign of the more inclusion in the American fashion Industry.
But it’s not just for people who believe in dressing modestly because of Islam. Vogl says that her line is for everyone, explaining to Fusion that,”Our clothes fit everybody, we like to go with simple basic look[s] that fit everybody’s style and that is also affordable, comfortable and fashionable.”
One quick look at the line and Verona’s Instagram, and you can see it’s about the beauty in simplicity. Think gorgeous flowing fabrics, sleek lines, and muted color palettes. DKNY’s been on board so we’ll probably see more of this. For more on hijab fashion, check out our interview with Naballah Chi.
