The amount of runway designers that have extended sizing ranges, but it’s always a number less than ten. So when we got word that Jonathan Saunders is the new chief creative officer at Diane von Furstenberg, we knew there was officially something to be excited about.
DVF’s designs are already curve friendly, but with Jonathan Saunders at the helm, we’re bound to get more printed, bright colored dresses than we ever have before. Diane commented in Vogue, “Jonathan’s extraordinary passion for colors and prints, his effortless designs, and his desire to make women feel beautiful make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future. I could not have found a cooler, more intelligent designer and I cannot wait to watch him shine as our chief creative officer.”
Saunders’ reputation for dressing woman’s curves in various A-line, body-con, and sheath styles have made him a favorite among women who want to show off what they’re working with, and his use of ecstatic prints and vibrant bursts of color is just what curvy women have been wanting. We personally can’t wait to see what he does with DVF’s signature wrap dress—a dress that fits like a glove and has the perfect balance of wearable, chic and femininity. It’s much better to have a designer like Jonathan take over an iconic line that actually loves a woman’s body, than a designer who only creates for models who fit into sample sizes.
