You already know German model Silvana Denker from the Body Love project. She initiated that thing where she shot a bunch of half-naked women in boots with letters spelling out body love on their bare midriffs.
It was an age diverse and size diverse group of eight, and it went global, and it was a smart move that echoed round the Gram and the world. Denker’s a curvy model who accidentally stumbled into modeling as a joke, but she’s working. It turns out she gives way more than the camera takes.
In a video for German site DW, she talks about how she wants to take stunning photos of women who may not be totally happy with their liuek, but still want fire shots. “I’ve learned to love myself worth more than a number on the scale,” she says. Watch below so you can follow as she talks to women on the street about their body feels. You know, cellulite and all that noise. Her whole deal is that women are more than their shell, and we could always use a side helping of that.
You’ll just have to contend with the translation which is a small price to pay to see her in that excellent poncho. Watch it here.
