As the spring weather just can’t seem to make up its mind these past weeks, it leaves us with the mini fashion crisis of mastering “transitional” outfits. How are we supposed to dress to kill when it’s freezing at 9a.m., pouring by noon, and sweltering by 3? It’s that awkward time when you need to let go of your winter sweaters, but can’t quite commit to completely switching them out of your rotation just yet. There’s always that one day during the week when the weather is inexplicably way too cold and disgusting for what everyone keeps insisting is “spring.” Luckily, we’re here to help. We’ve put together some universally sized transitional spring outfits below to help you productively dress for all your upcoming spring festivities.
Weekend Vibes:
Just because the weekend is here, doesn’t mean you have to ditch your fashion instincts during those weekend errands. Tuck a simple tee into high waisted jeans, and throw a denim jacket on top for easy casual spring layers. Pair with a pair of practical sneaks and backpack to run all your weekend errands while still lookin’ effortlessly fly.
Ladies who Brunch: Who doesn’t love a good bottomless brunch? Brunching could very possibly be one of our favorite things to do all seasons, but especially in spring. With spring flowers in bloom, sunny mornings and (somewhat) warmer days, throw on your most sexy, form fitting jumpsuit with a leather jacket and lace up sandals for the perfect spring brunch attire. Did someone say endless mimosas? Count us in.
Springtime Activities: Now is the time for us to ditch those winter layers and update our closets with lighter spring layers. Luckily for us, this includes stocking up on some of the best in-between springtime jackets ( see some of our prior picks here ). Since weather is still annoyingly unpredictable, layering a lightweight colored duster coat is a great way to play up spring colors without ditching your year round uniform of all black for a great look we could easily rock every day.
Workout Inspired: Finally, we’re able to venture out in the wild and actually be able to work out outside. Before it gets too hot to be enjoyable, take advantage of the beautiful weather and mild temperatures to get your workout in at your local park with either a bike ride, run, or simply sipping Starbucks during a leisurely stroll in the park, check out our top picks for spring workout attire.
Night on the Town: The time has come again where the masses have decided they are done with hibernating and need to get their juices flowin’ from a little nightlife excitement. Because there is absolutely nothing better in this world than a sexy little black dress, revamp this staple piece by adding some edgy new accessories to create a transitionally sexy night time look. Since there is literally no such thing as having too many black dresses, shop the look below for a new, fresh take on the classic LBD.
