When Target announced that they would be collaborating with Finnish brand Marimekko we were definitely curious. Marimekko is famous for their bold, big prints and attention-grabbing patterns that most designers pretty much shy away from when designing a clothing line that’s inclusive of sizes for curvy women.
But today when we got the pictures of the look book we were pleasantly surprised—could it be too good to be true that the mass retailer actually provided printed crop tops, high-waisted pants and a ton of clothing options for curvy women? Apparently not. Denise Bidot modeled for the collection, looking amazing in not just swimwear, but clothing too! It’s a nice change to see a curvy woman modeling all different kinds of pieces for a campaign instead of just one image of swimwear.
The collaboration has over 200 pieces, and not just clothing. There are umbrellas, strollers, beach essentials, kitchen items and basically everything you could want and more. Prices range from $8 to $500 (if you want to match your swimsuit to a paddleboard) but most items are under the $50 range for clothing. The collection officially launches April 17th, so keep the date marked on your calendar if you’re looking for a summer wardrobe update as much as we are. We want everything.
