Wonderland did a major story on model Hari Nef who is a trans woman “taking over the world,” and Terry Richardson (rap sheet chock full of allegations here,) took the pictures.
Some of the shots were oddly more nuanced than what we’re used to seeing from good old Mr. Richardson. Love the shot of her screaming to the skies as she disrespects and inflatable deer. As it happens, the quotes from Hari, who is a beautiful talker, make the whole thing a worthwhile read, but of course fans were critical of Nef’s choice to join the countless ranks of celebrities who pose for Terry, undeterred by the sexual assault allegations. And for these folks, she posted a message on Tumblr, the most honest of all personal brand platforms, RunwayRiot found.
On the loss of fans due to her work with Terry:
if your opinion of my collaborators gets in the way of your support of me and my work then you should find another girl because i guarantee i’m not the one
And another thing on who gets to weigh in about Nef’s life and choices:
like this is not a discourse sweetie. this is not an open forum. this is my career and if you’re not paying my bills you’re not entitled to an explanation
So, in this story, Hari Nef talked about the “pink-washing of trans women,” and other important things, but today it’s about how Terry Richardson’s particular artistic genius continues to go strong and how people want to write off their faves when they do stuff with him.
Thoughts? At least that potato sack-like Margiela dress looks great.
