In a pointless attempt to seem more body inclusive, Forever 21 created an Instagram dedicated to just their curvy line. It’s like a digital version of the treatment the curvy clothes get in their stores. So obviously, aiming for body inclusivity turned into Forever 21 isolating their customer base.
Round of applause to Forever 21, for pointing out that the difference between sizes of clothing warrants an entirely new page. I dig the effort but cringe at the execution. At what point can all the clothes be just Forever 21?
Sadly, this page is getting a lot more negative attention about the models that are featured on the page. A lot of insta-users believe that some of the models shouldn’t be considered “plus-size”, because they are “normal” sized women. There are a diverse range of models represented on the retailer’s instagram, but there aren’t quite as many body types represented here. Try again?
