Today we are thrilled to announce the TWELVE power girls who won our giveaway — a RunwayRiot t-shirt signed by our managing editor Iskra Lawrence.

Quick rundown: We want you and women of all sizes to have all of the fashion and shiny things you deserve. And we’re starting with a t-shirt… a special one, a RunwayRiot one, signed by Iskra Lawrence. So we invited women to flex and pose with the #jointheriot hashtag for a chance to win our managing editor’s free t-shirt.

It was so exciting to see rioters from Pennsylvania and Florida to Germany and Belgium get their shine on with the #jointheriot hashtag. It’s absolutely rousing to see your shiny faces behind the cause.

Even better, nearly every single rioter had a powerful message to go with her power stance. A very special congratulations to Emma Housel, Anastasia Rogers, Mary Dillon (and her sister, Anna Dillon) Abby L. Andrews, Chabliss Sanchez, Bethany, Samantha Moffe, Keri, and Sophie Kreicker. You’ve won!
(We were going to give away one, but Iskra was so moved that we decided all of you get one.) Thank you ALL for joining the riot. See what these inspirational women had to say below.

WINNERS.

WINNERS.

AND talk about being blown away. Because we were so floored by your powerful messages, if there’s any chance you can make it over to New York City for a photo shoot with Iskra, we’d love to see you. And then you can talk with her about stuff. You know, body positivity, our selfies, and ourselves. Congratulations rioters! We’ll be mailing these out to you next week.

And…what riot? If you haven’t heard about it from our fearless leader in various glossy publications, RunwayRiot is dedicated to serving an underrepresented and often overlooked community of curvier women who deserve to have just as many stylish choices as everyone else, and we’d love to see you #jointheriot too.

Check out our winners below.

This one is a rare, out of character, post for me. However, I was inspired by the self-love expressed by Iskra with her current Join the Riot campaign. I recently have been attempting to detox from social media because it had become a form of empty self-affirmation. I was attempting to please a faceless crowd that does not know me or have my best interest at heart. Sadly, I see so many people taking to social media to project their own insecurities on others and spread hate instead of love. And we as empathic humans absorb and internalize the hate. I myself have faced a great deal of body shaming and extreme judgement from people who do not know me, my body, my life story, but feel they have the right to tell me what I should look like and whether or not I should love or be proud of my body. So to this I say, Fuck the Hate, Spread the Love!! My body has an incredible story, a journey from extreme injury with a long daunting recovery. I have accomplished more impressive physical feats in the past year than in my entire life and yet somehow I still let people tell me I am fat and out of shape. This body is strong, this body is beautiful, this body is sexy, this body is mine and I treat it well every damn day! I work towards being healthy first, and everything else follows. So thank you to Iskra for reminding me to project love and confidence and to ignore the company of misery. #JoinTheRiot #everyBODYisbeautiful @iamiskra @therunwayriot thanks for the confidence and push to step outside my comfort zone and make a statement

Responding to @iamiskra ‘s and @therunwayriot ‘s message! ‼️???? #JoinTheRiot and be 100% you! In middle school I was overweight, had horrible self esteem, and zero confidence in my body.. Now I’m almost 21 and can say I’m in love with my curves and my squishy bits! No one is perfect but we can all change the perception of perfection ❤️ #noretouching #inspiration #therunwayriot #runwayriot #iskralawrence #allmidriffsaresexy #5ft

Runway Riot is a project about the modeling industry that is encouraging women of all ages, shape and sizes to love their bodies. Models are thought to have the perfect body, the perfect face, the perfect everything. And people in general may feel embarrassed of certain imperfections on their bodies. Plot twist: Models aren’t perfect! Yes they are beautiful. But so is everyone else. Often times, plus size models are looked down on. Models should be known as just that, models, plus size or not. Iskra Lawrence is a model that heads this project, and encourages everyone to love themselves the way they are, therefore she does no retouching in any of her photos. She is proud of her cellulite and imperfect skin. You should definitely check out Runway Riot, it is a great project!! Every woman should have the right to feel beautiful. Embrace your cellulite. Be proud of your stretch marks! Love your scars, freckles and curves. If you’re as skinny as a rail, if you’re tall, short whatever you are. If you would like to lose weight or change your body, then great! If you are happy with how you are, then be happy!! God created you to be a beautiful creature inside and out. Confidence. Being happy. That is the most attractive asset on a woman. #runwayriot #everyBODYisbeautiful #loveyourself #beYOUtiful #JoinTheRiot

I #JoinTheRiot because I’m an ana fighter and I’m winning by developing curves to be such a loveable, hot babe like @iamiskra (btw I adooore you and your body). Being at a normal weight isn’t too fat (like it seems to be for fashion industry), it’s heathy, warming, making me happy and making me realize that all these fashion model images aren’t only photoshopped (mostly) but also NOT HEALTHY. Even if most models pretend to be able to eat whatever they want, I’m cocksure they cannot.. Hope I win the signed shirt (I’d wear nothing else no more) and could help publishing the idea of a healthy-weight-body-world (yeaaa, not even a word but you know what I mean @therunwayriot #jointheriot #competition#giveaway#freebie#bopogoals#bodypositivity#everybodyisBEAUTIFUL

Social media and society have told us what is beautiful. You can’t have rolls. Your thighs can’t touch. You must be tall and lengthy. If you’re a size 8 & above you’re “plus size”. God forbid your legs have cellulite. Honestly, f*ck that. Ever since I came across @iamiskra and @therunwayriot I’ve completely changed my outlook on myself. I’m a size 8. I know damn well I should not be considered plus size. I have cellulite. I have fat. I am not perfect, but I am unique. I am beautiful… and so are you. Don’t let society tell you any different. #everyBODYisbeautiful #RunwayRiot #jointheriot #RunwayRiotChallenge
