You might’ve blown an air horn in celebration of the announcement that Forever21 is now offering up some Alexander Wang-like workout gear for curvier women. After all, we know that straight size people aren’t the only ones who could get some use out of some printed yoga pants (we see you, Victoria’s Secret).
But not everyone was thrilled about the news. Some women are calling out the brand for not extending their activewear sizes beyond a size 3x, noting that this still misses a significant amount of women who would love to match their sports bra to their marble floors.
not sure how activewear that doesn’t actually fit many plus size women is activism 4 their cause, but ok, sure F21 https://t.co/6Zte6QnMrZ

It’s no secret that Forever21 isn’t synonymous with “high quality” or “high fashun.” The store is notorious for clothes that run small, and some women have little faith that the fast-fashion company’s activewear would be able to accommodate their hips.
@eileen_mai Apparently. I am 100% in favor of the concept, I just need a substantially better company to do it…

@MaraAlyseGH oh gotcha. Yeah almost nothing from that store has ever fit me properly

@eileen_mai Yup. I’ve bought a few things there and regretted most of the purchases.

And then there’s that fun little “No Days Off” sports bra that Denise Bidot is sporting online. We definitely could have done without that Khloe Kardashian-approved slogan. Still love ya, though, Denise.
@amandakater @feminace @mashable “no days off” is a body positive message for fat women??????? Uhhhhhhhhhhhh

The Forever21 activewear is a baby step in the right direction, but we agree that it would be nice if the already tight-fitted yoga pants were available in even more sizes. Even more high five-worthy would be if they were coming from a company known for its consistently poor quality and fabrics that might disintegrate in your palms if you rub too hard.
Obviously exclusive places like Victoria’s Secret and Lululemon aren’t letting curvy women in on their trendy little gym numbers any time soon, so for now we guess we have to settle for this. Chime in and let us know your thoughts on Forever21’s move to be inclusive at the gym.
