In today’s video, I’m talking about the retouching of photos of women.
As a model, there have been times when I’ve been retouched so much that when I look at the picture, I don’t recognize myself. What worries me is that retouched fashion photos spill over to social media, where I’m astonished to find so much retouching. For me, putting images that actually look like me makes me feel more confident, and from the feedback I’ve gotten, young women actually want to see the reality– markings, scars, cellulite and all.
That’s why at RunwayRiot, we won’t retouch our images of women because we want women to see women as they are.
