Keeping up with all her old tricks, Amy Schumer made her appearance the butt of the joke last night when she tweeted this joke about being next up to strut down the Miss Universe stage like a Great Dane in a bikini.
So nervous. I’m up next #MissUniverse2015 pic.twitter.com/Y8kSr0FhWX

Most people were in on the joke. Amy was bundled up for an Alaskan winter and nowhere close to the explosion of perfume and hairspray at Miss Universe. Some people even noted the resemblance between Amy and Ralphie from A Christmas Story. And we get it. Amy unfortunately isn’t the body type people want to see promoting world peace. But surprisingly, a few drunk followers didn’t get the memo that Amy makes jokes for a living.

This isn’t the first time Schumer has pretended to be in a televised display of beautiful straight sized women. Just a few week ago, she fooled some people into thinking she was 2015’s hottest new Victoria’s Secret Angel because Gigi who? This little act has become a regular ‘ole Schumer staple, it seems.
No doubt this is funny stuff– Amy got her fair share of laugh-cry emojis from the tweeters at home. But wouldn’t it be awesome if these jokes about clearly not fitting in at a lingerie show or a beauty pageant didn’t resonate so deeply with people? If different body types were accepted at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show or a worldwide beauty contest, maybe we could all laugh a little less loudly when Amy tries to pretend that she’s in on the fun.
We’ll just be over here slinging back mimosas until that day comes.
