The Moronic CW Network Thinks the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Will Inspire You to Lose Weight

Just when you thought you were done hearing about last week’s annual celebration of the world’s hottest straight-size models in gemstone-covered bombshell bras, here’s this fun piece of news.

Last night, the CW Network, home to some of your favorite brain-melting shows like Gossip Girl and America’s Next Top Model, re-aired the fun times with Gigi, Kendall, and Angel company. You know, in case you missed it the first time around. To get Twitter pumped for the show, some possibly drunk social media manager or delusional intern tweeted this gem about how the fashion show is just the kind of Monday motivation we all need to get our holiday bodies in check.

Looking for inspiration to keep the weight off during the holidays? The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show should do it, and it starts NOW.

Good one, CW. It’s always a great day when a major television network gives you unsolicited weight loss tips and perpetuates certain beauty ideals through a body shaming tweet. Here they are, creators of shows kids might DVR, using the Victoria’s Secret Angel body type as “inspiration” for people to get their hands out of Santa’s cookie jar or whatever.

We all get it. The Victoria’s Secret Angels are hot. It’s hard to make it through a day without some magazine telling us how to eat, sleep, breathe, work out, get dressed, or brush our teeth like a Victoria’s Secret Angel. But we don’t need a television network 1. assuming their followers go on Twitter for holiday weight gain prevention tips and 2. reinforcing the idea that the Victoria’s Secret Angel body type is one that we should all strive for.

Clearly, this isn’t the jolly message viewers were looking for, and a lot of tweeters let CW know that they weren’t impressed with their helpful little hint:

@CW_network As a father, how do I explain this to my daughter? This is offensive and damaging. Please reconsider posting stuff like this. — Mitch Kosterman (@MitchKosterman) December 15, 2015
