Beth Ditto, Gossip’s battle crier who gave us “Standing in the Way of Control,” and OG Jean Paul Gaultier eye cleanse has announced she’s launching a collection with the designer himself.

Luxury will always be the last bastard of a nut to crack when it comes to access to fashun that fits ALL women. With this news comes the radical idea that we may have a pair of geniuses actually doing that.

Sounds like their heads are in the right place. They told Dazed “expect silks, custom prints, embroidery and Beth’s first-hand understanding of fit.” Do you know diehard Gossip fans who were pissed when Ditto became a runway attendee way back when? This collaboration makes it all worth it. Ditto, your favorite, said this: “It’s my lifelong dream to get to design real clothes for big people, clothes that are comfortable and cool!”

There’s also Ditto’s t-shirt that benefits the excellent Girls Rock Camp Foundation with a picture of the most iconic thing a woman did with her body since birthing Jesus — it’s Madonna’s Gaultier corset from the Blonde Ambition tour. If there’s one thing we take issue with, it’s that it’s a sexy small corset on an oversized t-shirt like those silly bikini t-shirts instead of a real CORSET. BUT we get it. It’s a cheeky, AFFORDABLE nod to what’s to come, and that better include tight lingerie for women of Ditto’s size.

If they serve up high-end couture that’d be convenient, because we have some change to throw.
