Today, Refinery29 and Lane Bryant CMO Brian Beitler had a friendly little live Twitter chat where they asked tweeters to send in their questions using the hashtag #AskLaneBryant. Lots of your burning questions were sent off, and, as could be assumed, a lot of people have beef with the “body positive” mega retailer not necessarily known for representing all women in their advertising campaigns for their occasionally fashionable clothes. Here are just a handful of our favorite tweets that came at Beitler:
#AskLaneBryant have you tried making tops that look normal and don’t have the same sequinned tribal pattern on them

Why don’t you have sizes above 26 in your stores? #AskLaneBryant

If #plusisequal why are the smaller bras more likely to be on sale & better stocked in-store + online than the F/G/H bras? #AskLaneBryant

But Alysse Dalessandro of the indie label Ready to Stare got extra real when she tweeted this:
@readytostare Great question! Two part answer! 1) Our primary goal is to shine a much needed light on the question around body diversity.
— Lane Bryant (@lanebryant) December 8, 2015
2) We are learning just how broad we need to be in our own inclusion in body diversity from our customers and our fans.

Alyssa fired back, “so are we gonna see some size 22+ models in the future or nah?” She’s gotten no response (yet), but a retweet from babe Tess Holliday, so something tells us Lane Bryant might change their tune soon. As we all know, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. So congrats, LB.
