Well before Chromat’s mission to help women harness the power of their sexuality with harnesses, fashion’s most formidable subversive designers were doing head cages. We modestly believe that even though this look doesn’t have much practical use in the world above sex dungeons, it’s a hot take on the cages our society puts women in. The architectural headgear is about scorning bridal veils and flower crowns in favor of a look that shows how our minds are imprisoned or something. When you cover your head in a lattice head cage, you immediately have protection against subway slaps, unwanted hugs, and most large birds. It’s a superwoman hat for someone who isn’t afraid of low-ceilings or the inability to touch up her eyeliner.
