As far back as I can remember, my grandma has been my closet confidante, most especially when it comes to matters of the hearts — and clothes. Forget that she’s over sixty years my senior, there is no one who appreciates one of my token shopping binges more than her. This said, even as a neo-vintage enthusiast and someone who’s happily accepted her hand-me-downs as an adult, our styles are still very different.
This is why I’m so fascinated with photographer Qozop’s latest series, Spring-Autumn, in which he takes a handful of young twentysomethings, has them pose with their parents or grandparents, and then has them swap clothes. As you might imagine, the outcome is thoroughly adorable.
While I don’t see my grandma willingly slipping into my leather motorcycle jacket and cigarette pants anytime soon, I’m already contemplating throwing on her Broadtail coat, most Blanche Devereaux-esque blouse, and mid-heel dress shoes for a night out stepping.
