2017 is just starting, but January is basically over. It’s time to remind ourselves that we still have a few months to pack our bags and visit some amazing and different cities this year. With infinite amount of choices to pick around the world the task to find your next destination can be daunting. After reading and reviewing the pros and cons of different cities, I decided to make a list of the top 5 amazing cities in the world you just have to visit this year! Ready, set, GO!

Colombia, Medellin
This city made a reinvention like no other city before. Medellín is a much wealthier, safer and fashionable these days. Its pleasant climate gives the city its nickname – the City of Eternal Spring – and the moderate temperatures put a spring in the locals’ steps, at work and at play. Medellin is also known for its textiles industry and in recent years this has developed into a fashion scene. Events like Colombiamoda, the country’s biggest fashion show held here, bringing creativity and youthful energy. On the weekends people prefer techno or reggaeton to salsa and vallenato, attracting beautiful people to bars and clubs.

Tokyo, Japan
Visiting this city last year blew me away. Tokyo is evidently reaching into the future from giant robots to the phenomenon of their culture that has reached far around the world. This city has everything you can ask of a city: cuisine (more Michelin stars than any other city), café, bars, great public transportation, very clean and safe, and the place where new trends grow each day. There’s a passion for everything new in this city and honestly is one of the best places I ever been because it makes you feel alive. A must!

Nairobi, Kenya
Nairobi is one of Africa’s most dynamic cities, and East Africa’s youngest, fastest – growing metropolis. This city has a cosmopolitan charm including vibrant cultural life, delicious places to eat and exciting nightlife. Although most visitors go to the national parks, beaches, art markets, and museums are important to not overlook further to the dynamic urban landscape and the ongoing fashion scene. Style blogs, artist collectives, and young designers are challenging the expectations of this African city. It’s time to go now!

Leipzig, Germany
I heard from my German peeps that Leipzig is the New Berlin. Although I have a huge love for Berlin and will recommend everyone to go every year I also suggest to pay a visit to Leipzig while in Germany. This city has grown to be a cool city and perfect playground for young creative, music lovers and innovators. Leipzig was labeled ‘City of Heroes’ – a title which could be also in reference to the many great musicians, and composers who are more popular and more prominent here than anywhere else in the world – Bach, Mendelssohn and Wagner just to say a few. It’s also a city with enormous history and a fast gentrification. Better go before gets too hot!

Lisbon, Portugal
Cheap food, cheap wine, sights and culture – you got me there, Lisbon. Called by Lonely Planet, a city with Gothic and glamour, this place has been a little bit overlooked from the European mecca and the prices can tell. The absence of open container laws and cheap booze means Lisbon knows how to party. I heard Lisbon is pure poetry from architecture, over a mile of creative fashion, breathtaking scenic views and wine stained traditional tabernas in a back valley oh my, I will probably pack my bags and go now.
