With the success of JCPenney’s #HereIAm and social media campaigns wtih 24 year old Project Runway winner Ashley Nell Tipton, good things are in store for the mass retailer trying to make a comeback. The collection is set to launch September 9th, and honestly I can’t wait to see what she’s going to produce!
She has a fashion background, she understands curvy women, and with the backing of a retailer on her side, there’s honestly no telling what she can do with such a major platform. According to Dallas News, the #HereIAm video has had over 36.5 million social impressions, and nearly 9 million video views, so people saying there’s no need for high fashion in the curve section are clearly wrong!
Tipton’s collection will be shown at a live runway show near JCPenney’s Manhattan store in Greeley Square, with models all hand-picked by her, and the collection will be instantly shoppable on their site after the show. I’m also looking forward to seeing the docu-series of Tipton’s behind the scences footage of creating the 19 pieces and what she has in store for the future.
