Julianne Hough Ditched Starvation and Relearned Balance

In the September issue of Shape magazine, Julianne hough talks about fitness, food, and how she maintains a healthy lifestyle. Hough explains that, when she was 19, she ate the minimum amount of food possible and exercised for two and a half hours per day. While hough’s body may have looked “fit” at the time, she felt far from healthy and far from happy with her body or her life.

Fast forward to today, Hough is 28 years old and lives a more balanced lifestyle. According to Shape, she exercises for our five days a week and eats mostly healthy foods, while allowing herself indulgences as well. She even has a lifestyle blog where she gives tips on food and fitness.

Hough’s journey to a more balanced lifestyle is something we can all learn from. She has found happiness, strength, health, and success, all without continuing to starve or overexercise. She loves herself and her body, and through that she has found health, peace, and even career success. Happiness did not come from being hungry or skinny. Success did not come from pushing her body to it’s breaking point. All the magic happened only once she began to love her body, and treat herself with respect and kindness.
