I am not a mother so I can’t speak on anyone’s lack of parenting skills. However, I am a woman who has had to deal with her fair share of society’s pressures and constant anxiety to be more sexual and desirable to the opposite sex. So when I saw this photo of Farrah Abraham’s 7-year-old daughter, I was disturbed like a lot of other people.

Of course the girl is cute as a button, and there’s definitely room for kids to be funny and make poses like adults. But there’s also a line that needs to be drawn when you’re selling your 7-year-old in a pinup girl manner on social media for creeps to see. One commenter said, “This promo for the show doesn’t look right. It’s like she’s promoting her daughter for the show as the next Teen Mom. That’s the first impression I got.”

And even if you have a differing opinion, clearly Farrah has some interesting ideas about the role that young women have in society as she recently fought to let her daughter wear makeup to school. The kind of pressure this young girl is under to be perfect at such a young age breaks my heart.
