We’ve already expressed our undying love for Alessia Cara and her song, “Scars to Your Beautiful,” but her inspiration for that song makes us love her even more.
She said in an interview with Lipstick.com that she started losing her hair in elementary and middle school.
Seeing chunks of your hair fall out in the shower is already scary enough, but hearing what others say can be just as scary. As a young girl surrounded by other girls, this must’ve been a difficult thing for Cara to face daily.
Kids are mean and judgmental, and we admire Cara for not only writing a song about being who you are and loving yourself for who you are, but for speaking out about her hair loss.
Cara is truly beautiful inside and out.
