Adele Does Not Need to Wear Makeup for Instagram

I read a lot of Adele ‘news’ today, and it was basically a lot of fluff about how her recent (recent means last two) posts on Instagram feature the songstress not wearing makeup. Cue the gasp because apparently media outlets thought this needed to written about extensively enough to critique why she isn’t wearing makeup, what’s going on in her life that would cause her to be so busy that she wouldn’t put makeup on, and what skincare she may be using since she’s obviously not using products that prep your skin for makeup but highlight your natural features. Please.

Really, there doesn’t need to be a mention of her not wearing makeup in the caption, or a critique of what she is doing in every photo that would cause her to not wear makeup! She’s a grown woman who is capable of making choices on her own. Even if she does have a signature makeup look, she has the right to go bare-faced. She’s stunning with makeup, and she’s stunning without it—all this does and make me wish that media outlets and magazines that keep preaching body positivity, and inclusivity and that beauty comes in many forms, actually walk the talk and support women instead of highlighting when they do something that doesn’t conform to the norm. Seriously people, get a grip.
