Sporty. Minimalist. And a touch of boho chic. We are totally crushing on Charlotte Kuhrt’s style.
This 24-year-old German makeup artist/body-posi blogger/model is all things fabulous and all things Riot. She is an absolute wonder, but she didn’t always feel that way. “I started in the fashion industry as a makeup artist 5 years ago…this led me to getting in touch with modeling. People on set told me about plus-size modeling, so I applied at major agencies in Germany and was consistently told I needed to lose weight,” said Kuhrt. Charlotte chose to pass on that “advice” and chose a different avenue to chase her dreams.
“I decided to get back to working as a freelance makeup artist, and constantly thought about what this industry does to our body image,” said Kuhrt. Instead of staying down, she founded the Riot-approved blog, BeautyNotSize. She describes the site as, “a place where I can talk about my thoughts about size, and how we should never let society tell us what’s beautiful.” Insert praise hands from us.
She’s big on showing curvy girls trends that look boss on them, and inspiring all of her readers to wear what they want regardless of their size.
Her three must haves for the summer?
- A tight pencil dress. “I love the way it hugs my curves.”
- Wide pants. “Add a crop top for a hint of sexiness…great alternative to a linen short for a casual look.”
- Jumpsuits. “I have a ton of them; they always flatter my body type and are perfect for post-work parties with a bit of a heel!”
We could not agree more. Consider us fans, Charlotte. We love you and all that you do.
