We believe that the fight for body acceptance gets stronger every day on the backs of body positive women. With RunwayRiot’s tell-all video series My Body My Story, we take you up close with today’s body positive warriors. Each one will tell you about her complex and inspirational relationship with her body, because every woman has one.

Here to tell that story today is Alissa Wilson, editor-in-chief of Stylish Curves. Alissa recently appeared in Style Watch magazine, and has gotten her shine on as a model for Ashley Stuart. In this interview, she talks about trying bleaching cream, how she hacked away at the self-doubt that came from hearing she was “not the right kind of black,” or “not the right size,” and perhaps most movingly, how her strength made her feel attractive as an entire package. Even better, she strikes some poses for you.
