Mercedes Benz Fashion week is happening in Australia. And it’s the best excuse to drool over some of the structural design masterclasses. Here were the sexiest, coolest things we saw. While the collections aren’t available in the scale of sizes we’d like everything to be, it’s O.K. to look.
Dion Lee gets it. In the summer, the maximum amount of clothing we ever want to be wearing is a bra top and overalls. But if you have to transition from business attire to a going out look, this would be what we want to wear. Just a strip of fabric for the top, and extremely sharp suiting everywhere else. Getting those ankles and toesies out.

Do the ruffles start way above the waist? Yes, and normally we might object to anything that
creates massive curtains over your hot bod, but this is so casual and theatrical in a flapper girl way at the same time that we can’t resist it. GET ME THE SHINIEST SCALEY THINGS EVER FOR THIS INVERTED MERMAID THING WE SHOULD DO, Johnny said prolly. How badly do you want someone to ask you who you’re wearing so that you can reply “By Johnny.” We need this footwear yesterday.

Karla Spetic, this dress needs to get out of our dreams and into our lives. Everybody wants weird colorform shaped add-ons as coverings, and the way the mesh ripples is just so damn alluring. This midnight blue is a dream on so many skin tones. Also sorry, thanks Sydney, we think we want Tevas.

This is the glam Bianca Spender dress we will marry the body positive cause in. Because it’s metallic, it has ruffles in all the weird places, and she’s wearing it with black socks and boots suitable for riding horses in.

The way this Bianca Spender number cascades on her body is just so delicious. The slate grey is beautiful, and slips on and off easily, which is how a summer staple should be.
