One of our favorite RunwayRiot role models, Ashley Graham spent the day showing off her curves and dance moves, while dancing on a yacht. Clad in her Dreamer lingerie collection with Addition Elle and her stylist Cary Tauben, girlfriend looked fire and so were her moves.
In her recent interview with People she talked about dealing with body shaming and online trolls, giving insight on how to give off confidence even if you feel the exact opposite. “I’m faking sometimes that I’m obsessed with that fat roll or that I’m loving the dimple in my butt, because I don’t always love it. There’s been so many times where I have felt heavy, I have felt fat, or I felt like ‘Oh my God, I could look so much better.’
But when Ashley has these thoughts, she admits that even someone like her that’s covered Sports Illustrated, Glamour, a clothing line with Dressbarn and a lingerie line with Addition Elle, along with an even longer list of other accomplishments, she still has to check herself.
So what’s her secret to overcoming that critical voice inside her head? “I say [to myself], ‘You know what sister? You look good. You look hot. You look sexy.’ And I’ve faked it ‘til I made it and now I can grab onto certain things and be like you know what, I love you.” Bookmarking this page to use this mantra is the best idea we’ve had all day. Don’t forget to watch her werk.
