Daisy Lowe Putting Herself Down for Her Size Is The Most Ridiculous Thing We’ve Heard All Day

Today Daisy Lowe gave an interview with Advertising Week Europe.

Some people have really fast metabolisms and get to stay really skinny. I wasn’t blessed with that, I was always labelled this curvy model. I’m still a size eight, but I look like an elephant when you stick me next to all the other girls. I know that it sounds messed up but because they are so thin they look like clothes hangers.

Being in the spotlight can make it incredibly difficult to be comfortable with yourself no matter your size is. But this beautiful woman comparing her size to one of the largest animals to ever walk the face of the earth is crazy, and this kind of self-deprecating nonsense is exactly what women do.

The thing is, it’s not a blessing or a curse to have a fast metabolism; it’s just a fact of life that everyone has to deal with. To say that it’s a blessing to have a fast metabolism assumes that it’s everyone’s dream to be working out two times a day like Victoria’s Secret models, or constantly be on an extreme diet, and obsess about being a certain size. And that just isn’t true or fair to Daisy or any woman. So rather than being mad about this one, I’m just going to file it under things we need to ignore on the Internet today. No one looks like elephants except elephants.
