In celebration of International Women’s Day the beautiful Philomena Kwao posted an Instagram basking in the sunlight in a gorgeous dress. So gorgeous, we had to do some investigating.
Celebrating International Women’s Day by wearing some of my favorite female designers for @glamourmag’s #DesignedByHer initiative. I am wearing a beautiful dress by @grass_fields a designer who celebrates the beauty in traditional African fabrics. #ThePhiles #Grassfields #ntoma #afticantextiles #sustainablefashion #ghana #africa
Grass-fields’ writes on their website that they aim to put the love back into clothing again. “We want to give you a shopping experience that excites you, makes you feel good and provide you with unique pieces which you will treasure from season to season.”
Their vibrant colors, sexy silhouettes, and hot patterns really do put a smile on our faces. Grass Fields began designing clothing after noticing a lack of beautiful designs and well-made clothing inspired by African Heritage, but their biggest inspiration came from their love for self-expression through clothing. Working really hard to keep the clothing authentic and true to the roots of their inspirations, Grass-Fields sources their fabrics from Cameroon, Nigeria, and Benin. Clearly, gorgeous frocks that we hope to see a lot more of.
